Soul Sunday’s Tuesday Edition
Due to our technical difficulties we weren’t able to bring you Soul Sunday….so we figured why not a lighter fare Tuesday edition. We bring you Blackened Tuna steak and Homemade Caesar dressing.
We have taken a recipe from Foodnetwork.com….as many “cooks/chefs” may know your favorite recipes are stored in the brain and are made by “eye” not recipe. We have given a few pointers along the way via the ** comments. Although our version didn’t include croutons, the crouton recipe below is a great recipe. Enjoy xoxo #spot86itsalifestyle
Ingredients
- Salad Dressing:
- 4 whole anchovy fillets ** I personally omit this step I don’t like anchovies**
- 2 tablespoons (and up to 3 tablespoons) Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon balsamic or red wine vinegar (balsamic makes it nice and rich)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, peeled
- 1/2 whole lemon, juiced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 1 dash salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Croutons:
- 1/2 loaf crusty French bread
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, peeled
- Salt
- Salad:
- Hearts of romaine lettuce
- Fresh Parmesan wedge
For the Blackened Tuna we simply seasoned with Old Bay Blackened seasoning, a few drops of “liquid smoke” (adds a grill like flavor), and a few drops of Lea and Perrin’s worcestershire sauce (gives a meaty like taste). Season liberally. Allow seasoned tuna to marinate for about 20mins in refrigerator to increase flavors. Minus the croutons recipe is gluten-free. Simple, easy, clean eating. Xoxo
